Tarbuton
- Noun [ TAR - BOOT - ŌN ]
- "Tarbut" is culture in Hebrew
-"on" add to a word in Hebrew to mean "a little"

e.g. The Tarbuton adds a little Israeli culture to your life.

Welcome to the Tarbuton where you can learn, practice and use your Hebrew, celebrate the Jewish Holidays, make new friends and connect to Israel.

The Tarbuton is a rich social network for adults, and a Jewish community for kids who meet through weekly chugim and week-end activities once/month.  Regardless of where you live, what Synagogue you belong to, or what school they attend, the kids and our families are connected through the Tarbuton.

The Tarbuton community is a vibrant, multi-cultural, multi-lingual community. Americans enjoy an Israeli "Gan" (pre-school) or "Ulpan" setting that makes Israel a part of their every day life in a fun way.   San Diego Israelis enjoy the community which provides their children with a Jewish education emphasizing Israeli traditions and conducted in Hebrew.

No membership is required to join in and most events are free to the public.   Join us for a Holiday Open House, try a class or visit Cafe V'Ivrit.
