About Us
In 2006, a small group of Israeli families began a program for our children of Israeli-style activities, all in Hebrew.
Following the creation of a successful playgroup, we added a formal Hebrew language after school program for pre-school – 4th graders.
The program expands with plans for a Shnat Mitzvah program, support of a Tzofim – Israeli Scouts shevet and we added a Hebrew for High School Credit program and Adult Ulpan to improve the program according to our community's needs and wants.
The Tarbuton is a unique Israeli-style experience with support from the Ken Jewish Community. Partners have also included the San Diego Jewish Academy, Temple Solel, Congregation Beth El and Congregation Beth Israel.
Moms, dads and kids are fully immersed in Hebrew and contemporary Israeli culture, while enjoying a large variety of activities including music, storytelling, arts and crafts, Jewish holiday celebrations, and special events. For adults separately there are also evenings with Israeli films, literature, lectures and plays and social opportunities in English, Hebrew, French and Spanish.
Our vision is to create a community where we celebrate and transfer Jewish and Israeli identity to children who are growing up outside of Israel. We want to nurture a community where adults can come together to share our love for Israel, while creating a fun, creative space for our kids to become engaged in Israeli culture and the Hebrew language.

Mission: To offer Israeli-themed programs and classes (in Hebrew and/or English) that engage the local Israeli and entire Jewish community providing opportunities for all ages to learn and maintain their Hebrew language skills, share their traditions and build a deeper connection to Israel.
