Classes meet Monday, Tuesday or Thursday after school 3:30-4:30, 4:30-5:30 or 5:30-6:30 in 3 locations: La Jolla, Cardiff/N. County and Carmel Valley.

Hebrew in Hebrew. Grouped by age; 3-6, 7-9, 10-12. Ivrit b'Ivrit is not a religious program. Holidays are celebrated, however, through art and/or song.

Note: Classes in N. County/Cardiff are currently planned for 4-9 yr olds only. If your child is older or younger but you are interested in classes in any location that are not on the schedule, please let us know.

Program Description

Ideal for children learning Hebrew from the start and Israelis speaking Hebrew at home also attend, using the conversational classes to strengthen their children's spoken skills and for the reading and writing program.

עברית בעברית הוא חוג ללימוד עברית המיועד לילדים בגלאי 3-12 .

הלמידה נעשית באמצעות פעילויות חוויתיות,אומנות, שירים ומשחקים והכל בשפה העברית.

התוכנית מיועדת לילדי ישראלים ולילדים שהוריהם מעונינים בהקנית השפה העברית במסגרת שאינה דתית.

המורות בחוג ישראליות ובעלות ניסיון עבודה עם ילדים בגיל הרך.

Class Types

Ivrit b’Ivrit - Conversational Hebrew

Students with friends their age learn to speak Hebrew. This class is a lot of fun, the teachers work with the class in a proactive, creative and dynamic way. Kids help each other, learn to speak Hebrew together and foster strong relationships. Ages 3-12. Children who understand but do not speak Hebrew with ease also develop confidence in this environment among friends. Adult classes are offered as well with demand.

Ivrit b’Ivrit - Reading & Writing Hebrew

Students with friends their age learn to read and write Hebrew. This class is also conducted in Hebrew so students who are not fluent must take this course simultaneously with a conversational class. Students will learn the aleph bet, and learn to read and write using Israeli workbooks. Ages Kindergarten-12 yrs.
