House of Israel - הבית של ישראל

San Diego has a House of Israel located in Balboa Park downtown which is meant to showcase Israel for the general public.  The House of Israel is one of a Nation of Cottages that are side by side there in the park.

The House of Israel receives over 10,000 visitors a year. Visitors are Jews and non-Jews who are curious about Israel and this is a unique way for us to help convey a positive image of the Israel we know and love.

A re-design of the House is coming soon and we have a unique opportunity in this House to educate the public and temper negative imagery and press which may be their only knowledge of Israel to date.

Visit the web site to learn more about the House of Israel in San Diego - http://www.cottageofisrael.com/ - (the web site is under construction)

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer at the House of Israel on Sundays or  helping to develop a rich set of offerings of programs through the House please contact Amnon Silberger, President of the HOI to volunteer.  hoipresident06@yahoo.com
The United Jewish Federation has an Israel Center that has a Shaliach each year from Israel on staff.  The Shaliach's main objective is to help with questions associated with Aliyah (moving to Israel) and to assist with travel in Israel.

Visit the Israel Centers web page to learn more about scholarship programs for teens for their trip to Israel, applications for a San Diego trip to Israel and other travel program information as well.
